Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some questions that are frequently asked about FlexSqueeze. Got a different question? Just ask!
Yes, you can use FlexSqueeze on as many domains as you want as long as you own the domain. If you sell the domain, then new site owner will need to purchase the theme in order to use it.
If you want to use the theme on a client’s domain, you need the developer license.
Everything. Well, not exactly everything, but too much to list. If you ever used an older version of FlexSqueeze before, you are familiar with the how everything can be customized. FlexSqueeze 2 takes that customization to a whole new level by adding over 200 new options and a much more user friendly interface.
But don’t let the sheer number of options scare you. FlexSqueeze 2 also has what I call “QuickSets”, which are simply sets of options that are pre-programmed. You simply choose the QuickSet you want to use by clicking on the image showing the end result, and all the options are set for you. No muss, no fuss.
There are QuickSets to set all the site options, or specific QuickSets for menus, layouts and color schemes. So in reality, you don’t have to set a single individual option if you like the results that the QuickSets generate.
FlexSqueeze 2 makes it much easier to customize options and work in the visual editor. The goal of FlexSqueeze 2 (as with previous versions) is to make everything as visual as possible and limit the use of shortcodes. Shortcodes are used in a few features, but most of the design process is ‘what you see is what you get’.
- Add-ons – This button does nothing by default. It’s simply a place where I can add new elements via plugin without having to create a new button.
- Call to Action – This button gives you access to a large number of button graphics such as different varieties of ‘buy now’, ‘get access’, ‘order now’, ‘sign up’, and ‘free trial’ buttons. There are currently 94 different buttons included.
- List Styles – This button allows you to style unordered lists with different varieties of bullets. FlexSqueeze 2 now makes it even easier to change styles simply by clicking on an existing style and then selecting a new style to replace it. No need to edit the code.
- Text Block Formats – This button is new for FlexSqueeze 2 and has quickly become my most used button. It allows you to format text instantly with heading styles, borders, boxes, center and pull quotes, text shadows, tighter letter spacing, tighter or looser line spacing and more. It makes it very easy to combine multiple formats, and it indicates which styles are currently used and allows you to remove them as needed.
- Arrows – All kinds of arrows are available with this button. Simply click the arrow you want and it drops it into the editor.
- Badges – Different types of badge graphics such as satisfaction guarantees, money back guarantees and more are available with this button.
- Content Dividers – This button makes it super simple to insert dividers in your page. Many different styles are included like shadows, simple inset lines, bold dividers and more.
- Banners – These little do-dads range from banners that span the page to boxes with titles so you can spice up headlines or highlight offers or content.
- Columns – FlexSqueeze 2 adds new columns to this button, with a wide range of pre-set column styles. Simply click the column layout you want and it drops in a responsive set of columns ready for content.
- Star Ratings – If you do sites with product reviews, you can use the ratings tables to create review tables with star ratings.
- Testimonials, Quotes and Guarantees – These can help your sales pages stand out by making it easy to insert lots of different styles of elements.
- Autoresponder Forms – Totally redesigned for FlexSqueeze 2, this button makes it super simple to build email capture forms on your pages. After inserting a form, simply re-enter the button popup to reconfigure the form. Add or remove fields, change colors, widths or button styles and more.
- FlexBlocks – New for FlexSqueeze 2, this little gem of a button lets you insert full browser width “blocks” to build custom pages. Select colors, shadow effects, parallax effects and more. Just drop them in and add your content. Examples of pages using FlexBlocks can be seen on our home page and the theme feature page.
- Custom Pages – Insert complete pages ready for customization including sales pages, email capture pages, video capture pages and more. There are many new styles in FlexSqueeze 2.
- Clear/Space – This button allows you to insert float clearing elements and blank space into your posts. Ever have problems trying to get text to drop below an aligned image or just putting space between elements? It’s not an issue with this button in your tool kit.

FlexSqueeze 2 is designed to make upgrading as painless as possible. When FlexSqueeze 2 is installed, it will go through your existing options and update them to work with the new version. You will need to save the FlexSqueeze 2 theme settings once after activation to make the color conversions necessary on upgrade.
FlexSqueeze 2 also uses a slightly different widget configuration, so your old widgets may not end up in the same location as they were before the upgrade. There will be a notification at the top of the options that allows you to “remap” the widgets into their correct locations.
If you are using custom menus, you may need to go in an reassign them to the correct locations.
Flexibility 3 requires the same steps as upgrading from a prior version of FlexSqueeze, with one additional requirement. Flexibility 3 doesn’t have the full-width header option, so you will need to make an adjustment in the header options if you do not want the default full-width header to show.
Going forward, theme skins have essentially been replaced by the Full Site QuickSets that are built into the FlexSqueeze 2 theme options. QuickSets are basically theme skins, but they install in a single click. You don’t have to extract a zip file, import settings or upload images. Everything is handled behind the scenes and additional QuickSets are installed via plugins so it makes it very easy to install and use them.
Theme skins can still be used with FlexSqueeze 2, however. Just install them the same way as with older versions.
Absolutely! Since almost everything in FlexSqueeze 2 is extendable via plugin, it’s quite easy to develop new plugins that add specific types of graphics or elements to either the theme options or the visual editor buttons.
So if there is something specific you’re looking for that isn’t already offered as a plugin, please contact me and let me know. It’s actually quite helpful when my customers give me ideas for new add-ons.
That’s the reason FlexSqueeze 2 was developed. It began as a minor upgrade to the 1.5 version and just kept growing and eventually was forked into a completely new version.
FlexSqueeze 2 gives you specific options for controlling how your site adapts as the viewport gets smaller. You set trigger points for when the menu collapses and the sidebars drop below the content. Then there are even more options such as how the logo or title behaves on smaller devices and the layout of the dropped sidebar.
You can even go so far as to add custom CSS media queries within the options to further control how the site reacts at different break points. There’s a CSS helper that aids you in inserting custom media queries.
No. There isn’t anything in the premium membership that is linked to whether or not you renewed your membership. But plugins are updated frequently and you just won’t have access to new plugins or updates to existing plugins.
No, the theme needs to be purchased prior to purchasing the membership. The membership is an ‘add-on’ feature that is completely optional and just gives users access to more advanced training and plugins that add new features.
FlexSqueeze 2 makes changes to prior settings on activation, and this can cause issues if you revert back to a prior version. Due to the implementation of a new color palette and picker system, all theme option color values are updated on the first theme options save. If you revert back, the old color picker will not recognize the options that use the new RGB values, and will default to ‘FFFFFF’ instead, which is the hex color for white.
On activation, FlexSqueeze 2 saves a complete settings backup if a prior version is detected. I have a plugin available by request that will take the backup settings and revert them back to where they were before FlexSqueeze 2 was installed.
I recommend doing a settings export prior to FlexSqueeze 2 activation just so you have those settings available if you need to revert back.
