Version 1.1.0

Released March 20, 2017

  • New Buttons options make it easy to insert custom buttons into your pages
  • New Typography QuickSets enable you to set all theme fonts instantly
  • Three new Full Site Quicksets
  • New header gradient option allows you to create any two-color header gradient
  • New option to prevent stylesheet caching in the browser under the ‘Custom CSS Settings’ tab. If you do not see your changes when you refresh your site, enabling this option may help.
  • Video responsiveness can now be disabled under the ‘Mobile/Responsive’ tab. If you are using embedded videos that are already responsive, you can turn off the theme’s feature that forces videos to resize to the browser width.
  • Updated script for mobile device detection
  • New option to set footer feature area padding
  • Color palette QuickSets now reside in the theme rather than relying on a third-party API
  • Updated to detect more page caching plugins that can interfere with theme updates
  • Static cover backgrounds from Full Site Quicksets are available to select as site background images

Bug fixes and code modifications in version 1.1.0

  • Revamped the Layout Quicksets to work a little better.
  • Fixed a bug when running PHP 7 that resulted in no styles being applied to the site.
  • Fixed theme activation when using SSL
  • Changed feature area custom background image cover CSS to ‘cover’ rather than ‘100% 100%’. This prevents image distortion on smaller screens.
  • Fixed drop-down menu bug when using a menu inside the header and having the 100% Header Span option enabled
  • Fixed missing notifications when saving settings
  • Fixed bug when replacing Google fonts with single quotes in font family name
  • Fixed a rare issue that occurred when using a custom menu
  • Fixed issue when selecting images from the WP Media Library
  • Added minor caption CSS styles
  • Fixed issue when a plugin CSS would conflict with the theme’s CSS
  • Fixed a few other minor error issues that were very infrequent

Version 1.0.0

  • Theme now includes automatic updating. Updating from the pre-release will require either delete/reinstall or FTP, but once 1.0.0 has been installed, any time an update is released it will show an update notice and allow for one-click updating.
  • License key is now required on theme activation. This is primarily a condition for the automatic update feature. Your license key can be found in your account and it’s one key for all your sites.  No need to create a different key for every domain like the old system.
  • Added 12 more Full-Site QuickSets for a total of 21. The new QuickSets showcase some of the advanced features of FlexSqueeze 2 such as fixed background images, sticky navigation and color transparency. QuickSets are now extendable via plugin, so additional QuickSets will be made available in the future.
  • Added three more colors to the options color palette so you can now set 10 custom colors to use throughout the theme options.
  • Change the theme option color picker to be much more full-featured. When you click on a color field, you now have access to all 10 pre-set palette colors, an additional palette of 80 pre-set colors, a list of previously used colors, and an easier-to-use color picker.
  • Many color options now allow you to use RGBA colors, which allow you to set an opacity value. Opacities less than 1.0 allow anything behind the color to show through. Some of the new Full-Site QuickSets take advantage of these new design capabilities.
  • The Color Palette QuickSets have been completely redesigned. You can now load thousands of pre-set color palettes and pick and choose which colors to use. You simply drag and drop colors into your palette pre-sets and have the option to update colors site-wide or simply save the presets so you have access to them in the new color picker.
  • Fixed javascript incompatibility with jscolor picker script. This issue is triggered when a plugin loads the jscolor.js file on other admin pages, causing all of the RGB color values to revert to ‘ffffff’.
  • Added new option that allows you to just use a custom logo image for the entire header. If you add a custom logo image and set the option to ‘fill header’, the logo will fill the header and the header will be responsive as the browser shrinks on mobile devices.
  • Redesigned all header search boxes. The header search boxes are now a little larger and there are a lot more styles to choose from.
  • Removed option to use RSS icon/links in header.
  • Fixed issue of feature area custom background image not showing unless a shading effect image was also chosen.
  • Fixed feature area background image repeat issue. Some images were not repeating at native size but rather being scaled up to fit the feature area.
  • Added new option for the top feature area for full-width content. This allows you to use a slider and allow the top feature to span the full width of the browser.
  • Added new navigation option for ‘100% header span’. When using a full-width header and an ‘inside’ menu position, this allows the logo/title and menu to use the full width of the browser.
  • Can now use sticky nav when menu is positioned inside the header. This results in the entire header being sticky, including the title or logo.
  • Renamed and organized many of the navigation options. Added a few new options for drop-downs for text-shadows and drop-shadows.
  • Main menu and drop-down menus can now use RGBA background colors which allow for semi-transparent menus.
  • Menu drop-downs no longer require a width be set. They automatically expand to the widest item yet retain a minimum width as well.
  • Added ability to duplicate primary menu settings to secondary menu and primary drop-down settings to secondary drop-down menu in one click.
  • Fixed issue when setting sub-sidebar widths. Setting left sub-sidebar width actually set the right sub-sidebar width instead.
  • Breadcrumbs have been relocated inside the content wrapper. This eliminates the need to set a background color.
  • Added over 600 new custom favicon images.
  • Can now select different colors of mobile menu icons as well as add a search icon to the mobile menu.
  • Can now choose to remove the fixed-width header image on mobile devices.
  • Google Web Fonts options now include over 600 fonts.
  • Removing Google Fonts is now one click as opposed to having to remove the original font from all options where it was currently selected.
  • In addition to the 30 most popular fonts, there are now 30 popular script fonts, 30 popular serif fonts, and 30 popular sans-serif fonts added to the Google Font selector.
  • When adding a new Google Font, each font shows you the available font styles for italics and weight. You simply click on any of the additional styles you want to load with the font.
  • After adding a Google Font with weights such as 100,200,300, etc., those weights are then populated to every font weight selection option in the theme options. So if a selected font has a thin weight of 100 or 200, you can now use those anywhere you can set the font weight (site title, page titles, heading tags, etc.).
  • Added Instagram and Flickr icons to social media ‘flexsocial’ shortcode.
  • Fixed validation issues on theme options save. Invalid field entries could lead to options not saving, but since invalid field was located in a hidden tab, it was difficult to find which field was causing the issue.
  • Slight restyling of mobile hamburger menu drop-down menu.
  • Mobile menus that extend vertically beyond the browser window now scroll.
  • Made minor changes to custom logo image responsiveness.
  • Rich snippets are now available on categories and tags pages.
  • Fixed issue when creating new post/page before theme options had been saved, causing editor content to squish in center of window and be unreadable.
  • Footer scripts now load on sales page templates.
  • Fixed issue that arose when importing skins versus importing a CSV export file. All prior theme skins are compatible with FlexSqueeze 2 with the exception of some of the pro skins.  Those may require a little custom CSS to work properly. Skins will be replaced with the Full Site QuickSets going forward.  The QuickSets are extendable via plugin and will not require separate image upload and linking as the old skins do.
  • Added new ’roundit’ class for images that creates a round image with border and drop shadow on any image to which it is applied.
  • Added new FlexBlocks button to visual editor. Works in conjunction with the new ‘Full Browser Width’ page template to create full-width “blocks” that build your custom page. Includes many built-in styles of blocks that allow you to set the background color. Also includes examples using custom background images and parallax scroll effects. See the FlexSqueeze.com homepage or the FlexSqueeze features page to see FlexBlocks in action.
  • Added smooth scroll so scrolling with the mousewheel is smooth and not jumpy.
  • Sales page templates can now be set to any custom width by setting a custom field named ‘width’ and a value in pixels.
  • Redid most of the visual editor button popups so they no longer require you to select an item and then click the ‘insert’ button. You just click the item and it inserts. Also restyled many of the popups so they are easier to navigate and use.
  • List styles inserted from the visual editor button can now be changed simply by clicking inside the existing list and choosing a different style. List styles also have slightly different styling so as the font size increases or decreases, the list bullet image also increases or decreases.
  • Fonts and Type Styles button in visual editor has been completely revamped to include the ability to style “text blocks” such as paragraphs with various box styles, borders, headline styles, center quotes, and pull quotes. Once a style is applied to a text block, you can re-enter the popup to remove, change or add additional styles.
  • Modified visual editor columns button so all columns use 12 grid responsive code. Also added more column selections to auto-insert.
  • Added 1/2 star images to mock ratings table in visual editor.
  • Autoresponder Forms visual editor button now allows you to change an existing form once inserted. If you insert a form and want to add a field, change colors, etc., you simply click inside the form and re-enter the popup to make changes. Settings are all “cookied” so it remembers your last settings.
  • Autoresponder Forms have been revised to work with the Flex CSS Buttons plugin that will be available. This allows you to replace the standard form submit button with a different button style and include icons.
  • New capture pages added to the Custom Pages button in visual editor. Older capture pages have been updated slightly to be responsive.
  • Most visual editor buttons are now extendable via plugins as you’ll see a button at the bottom of the popups that link to the pluins page on FlexSqueeze.com. As FlexSqueeze 2 rolls out, many new plugins will be made available to add new features and graphics to the visual editor buttons.
  • When FlexSqueeze 2 is first installed and a previous FlexSqueeze 1.x or Flexibility version is detected, it creates a full settings backup prior to installing. Due to the new colorpicker system, all color fields were changed to either include the ‘#’ symbol for hex colors, or to use RGB or RGBA colors. This creates a problem if you revert back to a prior version as the old color picker will default to ‘FFFFFF’ if an invalid color is detected. Any fields that were converted to use RGB or RGBA values will now show ‘FFFFFF’ as the color value.  There is a plugin available by request that allows you to revert all theme settings back to the point when FlexSqueeze 2 was first installed and you can switch back to an older version.
